Wednesday to Saturday: 18:00 to 23:00. Meals served until 21:00.
Sunday to Tuesday (by request): 18:00 to 22:00 – featuring “ESSBAR light” (a smaller ESSBAR menu) & the Sonnenhof gourmet menu. Meals served until 20:30.

Our à la carte restaurant ESSBAR is renowned in the region and beyond for its top-quality steaks. Its excellence has been consistently recognized with 2 forks by the Falstaff Restaurant Guide. As a Sonnenhof guest, you can enjoy ESSBAR’s acclaimed menu by selecting one of the following UPGRADES to your half board arrangement:
Option 1 – between Wednesday and Saturday
You enjoy dinner at your assigned table and switch your half-board meal for the ESSBAR à la carte menu. You will receive a €20 credit per person on your hotel bill for opting out of the half board meal. Please contact our reception team to arrange this option.
Option 2 – daily available
At your assigned table, you can exchange the half board main course for one of our premium steaks (beef fillet, entrecôte, rib-eye, or Churrasco) at an extra charge. Please book this option in advance in the morning.
Useful Information
Parking: Please park only in the designated Sonnenhof car park spaces.
EV-charging station (has.to.be Charging Station): We provide several Type 2/22kW wall boxes with a total output that is dynamically managed.
Dogs are welcome in the restaurant only to a limited extent and by prior arrangement. Thank you for your understanding!
