Booking Information & FAQs

Our hotel is open in summer from May to October and in winter from December to March. Our friendly and helpful reception team is available between 8.00 and 20.00. Our holiday apartments can be booked year-round.

Cancellation policy

Do you need to cancel your reservation, shorten your stay or reservation period? We will certainly try our best to avoid cancellation fees. In general, the following cancellation fees apply:

  • Up to 3 weeks prior to arrival no cancellation fees
  • Up to 2 weeks prior to arrival 25% of the total booked amount
  • Up to 1 week prior to arrival 50% of the total booked amount
  • Less than 1 week prior to arrival 75% of the total booked amount

EU consumer law does not regulate the conditions for and consequences of cancellation of individual services such as accommodation reservations. In case of cancellation, the General Terms and Conditions for the Austrian Hotel Industry apply.

***Special cancellation conditions for Christmas & New Year’s Eve bookings: free cancellation up to 6 weeks before arrival, up to 3 weeks prior to arrival 40%, up to 1 week prior to arrival 70%, less than 1 week prior to arrival and in case of early departure 90% of the total package price.

Travel insurance

To avoid any inconvenience, we recommend taking out a travel cancellation insurance. We recommend Hotel Cancellation Plus covering cancellation, early departure, and mountain rescue (incl. helicopter rescue) or Hotel Cancellation Premium (incl. accidental injuries). Follow this link for details.

  • Rooms will be ready on your arrival day from 14.00. Apartments will be ready at 15.00.
  • Please vacate your room by 11.00 on your departure day. Please contact us for different arrangements.
  • You can use the Sonnenhof NATUR SPA all day on your arrival and departure day at no extra charge!
  • Rooms and apartments will be ready from 14.00 on your arrival day.
  • On your departure day, please vacate your room by 11.00. Please contact our reception for different arrangements.

Free parking is available in front of the hotel and apartment building. Alternatively you can book a parking space in the carport (€ 10/day).

Parking: Please park only in the designated Sonnenhof parking spaces. If you can’t find a space please ask at reception. Do not park anywhere else, as parking on the surrounding private property can result in a fine (ca. € 200).

EV-charging stations: We have 3 wallboxes at the hotel & 2 wallboxes at the apartment building (type 2 / 22kW total power, dynamically managed). The wallboxes are public. They are located in or next to the carport. Payment information: As a hotel guest, you can pick up a charging card at our reception. Costs will be charged to your room bill when you check out.

Yes, free Wi-Fi is available in the entire hotel and apartment buildings.

We are happy to arrange a transfer from the train station Jenbach or airport Innsbruck or Munich. Please contact us by email or phone to discuss the details.

The Sonnenhof Hotel & Apartments are within 5 minutes walking distance (ca. 400m) from the Karwendel cable car (hiking and skiing area). The Rofan cable car (hiking and skiing area) is located in the neighbouring village of Maurach (5 minutes by car or by free regional bus).

We accept cash, Maestro or credit card (Visa and Mastercard).

We have two wheelchair accessible rooms in the hotel and two apartments in the apartment building. The restaurant is accessible and we have a lift in the hotel.

Yes, our guests receive 20% greenfee discount at the Golfclub Achensee (Pertisau).

On arrival, every guest will receive the free AchenseeCard (= visitor card, year-round). The card includes:

  • Free travel on regional buses
  • Free use of cross-country ski tracks
  • Discounts for steam cog railway, ships of the Achenseeschifffahrt, various museums

The Achensee Holiday Card (May to October) is available for a one-time fee at the tourist information offices and cable car cash desks. It is valid for 7 days and includes unlimited use/visits of:

  • Regional bus
  • Use of cross-country ski tracks
  • Steam cog railway
  • Achensee shipping company
  • Karwendel and Rofan cable cars
  • Various museums & attractions

The lake is ca. 700 metres from the hotel and ca. 600 metres from the apartment building. The lake is only visible from the top floor of the hotel. Each room and apartment offers splendid views of the surrounding mountains.

Well-behaved dogs are welcome to stay with us for € 20 or € 25 per day per dog without food. Please let us know when you make your booking if you are planning to bring your dog with you. As a courtesy to guests suffering from allergies, we do not allow dogs in certain room and apartment categories. We ask for your understanding that dogs are not allowed in the hotel restaurant, the spa area and the spa garden.

Achensee holiday region: Dogs must be kept on a leash at all times in the entire Achensee holiday region. Dogs must also wear a muzzle in all public means of transport (buses, cable cars, ships). Dog owners are responsible for immediately cleaning up and properly disposing of their dog’s waste. Follow the link below for more information.

For our apartments we offer a daily delivery service of fresh bread and rolls. Fill in the order form the night before and you will have fresh bread, rolls and pastries delivered to your door the next morning.

The apartment building is within one minute walking distance (ca. 120 metres).

A laundry room with washing machine and dryer is available in the apartment building (from €1 per wash cycle, free dryer), as well as an iron and ironing board. The hotel offers a laundry service (see price list at reception).

Simply leave your used towels outside your apartment door in the morning. Our housekeeping staff will deliver fresh towels to your apartment – free of charge.

All rooms & suites in the hotel have a spacious balcony with deckchairs.

All apartments have a balcony with deckchairs as well. The apartment “Tirol” and one of the apartments “Natur” have a terrace and garden access.

Of course our apartment guests may use all hotel amenities (spa area, children’s playroom, etc.) free of charge.

Yes of course. The following options are available for our apartment guests:

  • Apartment with self-catering, daily bread delivery service can be booked on-site
  • Apartment incl. breakfast buffet (at the hotel)
  • Apartment incl. gourmet half board (at the hotel)

There is no difference between apartment and holiday flat. We use both expressions for the same.
